I have a leaking tap – now what?

Date:

May 2022

If you have a leaking tap anywhere in your house you should first try to locate the individual valve underneath your sink, basin or laundry trough (wherever the leak is). If located, turn the valve off to stop the leak. This should only impact the water supply to that area and not your entire house. Once the tap has been isolated, contact Evans Plumbing so that one of our experienced plumbers can attend to inspect the cause of the leak and fix it right away.

If you are unable to locate an individual valve and you are concerned about the volume of the leak, you should try to locate your property water meter (most likely found outside your home near your property boundary) and isolate it there. This will turn off all water to your property.

Then call Evans Plumbing so that we can fix the cause of the leak immediately.
